Open the Steam application and log in to your account. In the search bar, type “Quake 2” and select it from the search results. Once purchased, it will be added to your library. Click on “Library” and locate Quake 2 in the list. Now you have your Quake 2 in both original and remastered version.

You can also explore and visit reputable Quake community websites or forums, where enthusiasts often share custom maps.

Locate your Quake 2 installation directory. This is typically found in the “Steam\steamapps\common\Quake 2\rerelease\baseq2\” folder.

Inside this folder create a subfolder named “maps” (if it doesn’t already exist). Move the downloaded custom map files into this “maps” folder.
